Season eight of the Territory’s iconic Million Dollar fish competition has officially flicked off.
Top End fishos have 101 chances to pocket $10,000 and a chance of hooking a $1m fish from Saturday, October 1.
But first, you must register to be a part of the fun.
Major Events Minister Paul Kirby said there were more tagged competition fish swimming around in Territory waterways than ever before.
“We wish everybody tight lines, we are so keen to give this money away,” Mr Kirby said.
“The rec fishing brings over $100m into the Northern Territory, we know that (this competition) brings millions of dollars into the Territory.”
Season seven, which concluded on March 31 this year, broke the record for the most money paid out yet.
By registering for season eight, fishos will also be put into a lucky prize draw to win other prizes such as airfares, campervan hire, fishing equipment and more.
