National cabinet’s first face-to-face meeting for next month has been postponed as New South Wales battles a Covid-19 outbreak.

THE first face-to-face national cabinet of 2021 has been postponed as states battle new outbreaks of Covid-19.

Earlier this month it was announced that all state and territory leaders, as well as Prime Minister Scott Morrison, would meet in Darwin on July 9.

Chief Minister Michael Gunner however said on Thursday that the evolving situation interstate situation, particularly in Sydney, had seen the event moved potentially to late-August.

“We’re excited to be hosting national cabinet and having our nation’s leaders see first-hand how Territorians are leading the national comeback,” Mr Gunner said.

“I’ve been talking directly to the PM, and we’ll still be hosting the national cabinet very soon.”
