Seafarers enjoyed the dark clouds rolling in across the harbour at Stokes Hill Wharf yesterday afternoon, hoping to see the skies open up over Darwin for the first time since Saturday, and the first significant downfall since October 8. The wind also picked up to a maximum of 24km/h, whipping up the ocean’s surface.
But Noonamah was the only weather station in the Darwin area to receive rainfall, with 25mm recorded.
Darwin’s highest temperature for the month was also recorded yesterday morning, with the mercury hitting 30.8C about 9am.

This month, Darwin has recorded a total of 157.4mm of rainfall, already swamping last year’s total of 20.2mm.
