DARWIN’S soccer community is mourning the tragic death of Remon Dolame who was killed in a bike accident while on holiday in Bali on Sunday.

The 21-year-old university student was a 2018 premiership player for the men’s league reserves from the University Azzurri Football Club.

Club president John Kassaras described the young player as “an up and coming talent, who always gave 100 per cent on the park.”

He said their tight-knit club was devastated by his loss.

“A gentle, considerate and all-round nice guy, Remon was a well liked part of the club and will be truly missed by all of the Darwin football community,” he said.

“Some of his coaches here watched him grow up playing, it’s just devastating.

“His team actually won the premiership last year and we were looking forward to another good season this year but unfortunately Remon won’t be a part of that now.”

Mr Kassaras said the club extended its deepest sympathies to the Dolame family at such a devastating time.

“What we’ve been able to find out is that he was killed in a motorbike or scooter accident on Sunday while he was on holidays in Bali,” he said.

“Apparently he was there celebrating his 21st birthday and unfortunately he didn’t make it home.”
