A DARWIN retiree says he plans to jetset off to Europe when overseas travel resumes after discovering his $1 million lotto win.
The Tiwi resident held the only division one winning entry nationally in Monday and Wednesday Lotto drawn yesterday — earning him a prize worth $1 million.
His marked System 8 entry also scored him division three 12 times and division four 15 times, bolstering his total prize to $1,005,601.30.

When an official from The Lott broke the news to the winner on Tuesday morning, he confessed he had been completely oblivious to his good fortune.
“I had no idea I had won anything,” he said.
“It’s a very nice feeling knowing one million dollars is coming my way.
“I play every week. I always use the same numbers. They are the birthdays of myself, my wife and my children.”
When asked how he planned to enjoy life as a newly-minted millionaire, the thrilled man said the win had come at the perfect time for him to enjoy his retirement.
“I’m newly retired! Just in the last year or so, so it’s nice to know we’ll be covered for my retirement!” he declared.
“As soon as we can, we’ll go travelling. It’s been a bit hard being retired but not being able to go anywhere.
“Once the borders open up, we’ll head straight to Europe and make a big trip around!”
