Sighs of relief were heard in the Darwin Council chamber when council backflipped on its decision to get rid of the Fannie Bay Equestrian Club, instead offering it a new 20 year lease.
But the new lease will not offer the club certainty, as a newly elected council will still have the option to reneg on the lease, when it is sworn in in September.

Council was offered three options last night: to offer a new 20 year lease to the club, to renew the current lease for another 20 years, or to stick with the current decision which will see the club moved on in 2020.
After a robust discussion over more than an hour and a half, all bar a couple of aldermen voted to offer the club a new lease.
