NEURON’S eScooters will keep Darwin’s streets vibrant and orange for at least another 12 months, after the Darwin council passed an extension of the trial at Tuesday night’s meeting.

A number of changes may be in store for its second year however, such as designated parking bays and incentives to encourage people to use their helmets.

Another extension of the eScooters’ range could also be made.

The eScooters trial has had a successful first year, with about 400,000 trips made in less than a year of the fleet being on Darwin’s streets.

Working with Neuron, Darwin council will also look at the possibility of allowing eScooters through the mall, where they were not permitted in the first year of the trial.
