Rangers hunt for 4.5m croc spotted near Stokes Hill Wharf where jet skiers frequent

Parks rangers are on the hunt for a 4.5m crocodile which was spotted near a Darwin Waterfront wharf, in an area where jet skiers frequent.

PARKS rangers are on the hunt for a 4.5m crocodile which was spotted near a Darwin Waterfront wharf, in an area where jet skiers frequent.

NT Police said they received a report from the public at approximately 6pm on Sunday of a sighting of a large crocodile in the vicinity of Stokes Hill Wharf.

“Parks and Wildlife were contacted and will continue to monitor the area and reports of further sightings,” Northern Watch Commander George Matthews said.

He said currently the crocodile hadn’t been located.

Request any sightings of a crocodile in this area to be reported to NT Police on 131444 and for the public to be Croc Wise if accessing waters across Darwin Harbour.
