BRACE yourselves — some familiar Country Liberal faces could return to have another crack at running the Territory.
Despite a review which recommended “actively discouraging” defeated MLAs part of the shambolic Giles and Mills administrations seeking preselection again, CLP president Ron Kelly on Thursday indicated he would be open to their return — if they were the “best candidates”.

But CLP leader Gary Higgins was less enthused about the potential return of his former colleagues.
“When it comes to people I have had to apologise for, obviously I would not be happy with those people unless I had an iron clad guarantee that I wouldn’t get a repeat of the past performance and I don’t think Territorians would be very accepting of that,” he said.

Candidates for 11 seats will be announced in late September.
