The Palmerston’s Pre-Cyclone Clean Up date has been announced.

City of Palmerston Acting Mayor Amber Garden encouraged residents to take advantage of the annual hard waste collection that would be held from September 26.

“This is a great opportunity to make our community safer during cyclone season, while tidying your property,” she said

“We ask that residents follow instructions provided by council of what can and cannot be collected, as this will allow the important recycling and repurposing process to run smoothly.”

Last year Palmerston Council collected 277 tonnes of waste of which 121 tonnes were able to be recycled.

Ms Garden said the council can also assist residents who “need a hand moving unwanted items” if they contact the Council “at least one week prior to their collection date”.

Here are the dates you can expect the collection convoy to visit your suburb.
