Children’s Commissioner Colleen Gwynne and Health and Community Services Complaints Commissioner Stephen Dunham have been reappointed in their roles for five years after they were assented by the Administrator during the week.
Both began in their roles in 2015.
Attorney-General Natasha Fyles said both Commissioners had brought strong results for Territorians and were respected by and committed to the Territory.
“Gwynne in the role of Children’s Commissioner has been at the coalface of significant change and legislation reform across the Northern Territory,” she said.
“Dunham has continued to deliver in the role of Health and Community Services Complaints Commissioner, handling the complaints from across the public health sector and providing recommendations to improve service quality.”
In her time as Children’s Commissioner, Ms Gwynne has implemented significant reforms into protection and detention of children, after previously serving as police commander.
