TERRITORY entertainers left out of work because of COVID-19 have been given a leg up after the community raised more than $7000 for them.

Musicians, comedians and other local performers who took part in the Darwin Live Facebook livestreaming sessions each got a share of the cash raised through GoFundMe.

Darwin musician Paul Phoenix said he was grateful to receive financial support during the difficult time.

“In October last year I gave up my job as a cabinet-maker to be a full time muso and so I’ve had to go on JobSeeker,” he said.

“It’s been pretty tough.”
