Bunnings’ famous sausage sizzle will be extra special this weekend, with almost 300 stores raising vital funds for a rare disease.
For a seventh year running, Bunnings team members across the nation have joined forces with FightMND and will get behind the BBQ this Saturday to raise money for motor neurone disease.
For those not keen for a feed, Big Freeze 11 beanies, buckets and pet toys will also be available for purchase.
Bunnings will donate every cent raised.
Bunnings chief operations officer Ryan Baker said his team were proud to support the cause.
“We feel very honoured to be supporting the cause for our seventh consecutive year,” he said.
“In this time, we’ve seen first-hand the hard work and dedication of the team at FightMND as they work to find a cure for the beast that is motor neurone disease.”
FightMND chief executive Matt Tilley echoed the sentiment of his “besties at Bunnings”.
“Like most people, pretty much every weekend I sit in my car at Bunnings and rationalise why I need a snag in bread with onion – occasionally without even going in store,” he said.
“Now we get to call it ‘work’.
“We are so excited that Beanies and Buckets make a welcome return to the Bunnings floor and the new pet toy is a ripper.”
Founded in 2014, FightMND was set up by former AFL player Neale Daniher, who is battling the disease himself.
FightMND has since become one of the world’s leading independent funders for MND-related research.
Sausage sizzles will take place on Saturday, April 17, from 9am to 4pm.
