Angus used his time in lockdown to learn a new skill and help the elderly

A GENEROUS gesture from 10-year-old Angus Copelin-Walters has not only kept him busy during coronavirus lockdowns, it has helped keep some of the most vulnerable safe and comfortable

A GENEROUS gesture from 10-year-old Angus Copelin-Walters has not only kept him busy during coronavirus lockdowns, it has helped keep some of the most vulnerable safe and comfortable.

After finding a passion for sewing, the youngster began making coasters, Zimmer frame bags and face masks for seniors living at a nearby retirement villages.

“I was watching TV and saw homeless people who are struggling and wanted to find a way to help them,” Angus said.

“One man said he smiled the biggest smile when I gave him the coasters.”

Angus has been nominated as Individual Junior Hero aged under 17 in the Territory Hero awards.
