NT paramedics were kept busy over the weekend after a man rolled his buggy, resulting in a “nasty fracture”.

A MAN rolling his buggy and a car colliding into a tree after performing burnouts were among the incidents paramedics attended to at the weekend.

St John NT operations manager Craig Garraway said Sunday was the biggest day for the ambos, starting with a car was doing burnouts. It then collided with a tree along Kalymnos Dr, Karama around 4.15am on Sunday.

“We did transport two people from that incident to hospital only with minor injuries luckily, and no one else was injured, which is a good start,” Mr Garraway told ABC Darwin.

Mr Garraway said Sunday was the biggest day for ambos with “a few bits and pieces going on over the weekend”.

“On Saturday we had a two car motor vehicle accident in Moil, there were no serious injuries there thankfully,” he said.

Mr Garraway said a man rolled his buggy and received a “nasty” fracture to his legs 17km North of Katherine on Sunday around 6pm.

“Our paramedics responded there and recovered him and took him back to Katherine hospital,” he said.

Mr Garraway said a motorbike rider was found unconscious on the side of the road in Humpty Doo about 8pm, also on Sunday.

“Not sure what’s happened there but he’s come off his bike and knocked himself out,” he said.

“Paramedics took him to the hospital in a serious condition.”

About 9.40pm a woman hit a tree in her vehicle and received airbag injuries from the impact.

“When I say airbag injuries they were not too serious but obviously they go off with a big bang,” she said.

“She was transported to the hospital and she’s making full recovery.

“So it was a pretty busy Sunday for us.”

Mr Garraway said there was also a two-car accident in Moil on Saturday, with no serious injuries.
