St John Ambulance called to two snake bites in 24 hours

Emergency services workers are warning Territorians to watch out for snakes after treating two snake bite wounds in two days.

Australia's most dangerous creature isn't what you think it is

EMERGENCY services are warning Territorians to watch out for snakes after treating two snake bite wounds in two days.

St John Ambulance operations manager Craig Garraway said staff were called to Dundee on Monday after a man in his 70s was bitten by a snake.

“It wasn’t too serious, and he was taken to the hospital for assessment.

“Be careful out there. Obviously with the change in the weather warming up the snakes are on the move.”

The incident follows another where an 11-year-old child was bitten in the Daly Region on Sunday.

“I believe wasn’t too serious, and the health clinic out that way you dealt with it and looked after the young lad and I think he’s made a full recovery,” Mr Garraway said.
