Darwinites showed off their finest as they converged on the lawns of the Mindil Beach Casino for the Darwin Turf Club’s night of nights.
The prestigious Sportsbet Darwin Turf Club Gala Ball returned to the casino for the first time since 2019, treating guests to an unmatched night under the stars.
More than 1000 guests enjoyed a fine dining, live entertainment and an iconic sunset at the black-tie event that marks the last big Carnival gathering before Darwin Cup day.
Ballgoer Peta Smart had been to the ball before and said it was an event she would go to every year if she could.
“I love the Gala Ball, it’s exciting and it’s beautiful to see Territorians frocking up,” she said.
“And what a great venue against a beautiful backdrop, it is gorgeous and there’s such a great food too.
“I’m a big fan of this event and would love to attend every year if I could.”
Caren Beazley was also hugely impressed with the occasion, saying it was amazing to get the opportunity to dress up considering in Darwin.
“The Gala Ball is really good for Darwin, its super amazing,” Ms Beazley said.
“We don’t often get to have these events where we get to dress up, because for six months a year it’s too hot to get out here.”
