TRIBUTES are flowing for Darwin man Sean Cassidy who was killed in a tragic single vehicle rollover in Girraween.

The 30-year-old was behind the wheel of a white Toyota LandCruiser utility on Sunday when it rolled on Power Road, Girraween just after 2.30am on Sunday.

The crash occurred 600m south of Girraween Road.

Police said his car had drifted to the right side of the road and struck the kerb and culvert.

Mr Cassidy was ejected from the car and tragically died at the scene.

Friends and family of the 30-year-old paid tribute to him on social media.

“I will love you forever and a day. He was taken way too young. I’m still in shock,” one friend wrote.

“So blessed to have known and loved such a beautiful fella! Absolutely heartbroken,” wrote another.

“He was a very loveable young man. I can’t believe he's gone,” one said.

Renee Brant wrote: “Absolutely devastating ... RIP you were a real gentleman and a pleasure to meet.”

Jade Harrison said Mr Cassidy was one of her clients. “... condolences to his family ... lovely man,” she wrote.

Kerry Jenkins added: “Lots of love to his family and friends. A very lovable young man taken too soon.”

Elvin Manes wrote: “Condolences to his family. You should all be proud of the decent and gentle young man he was. Such a tragedy to lose him so young.”

“So sad, he was a lovely guy, condolences to his family,” Sarah Bate wrote on Facebook. Aaron Power wrote: “Rest easy mate.. you will be missed seano!!”

It is understood Mr Cassidy lived in Darwin and worked for BSA.

NT Police Detective Senior Constable First Class Jeshua Kelly said police were investigating whether or not the driver was wearing a seatbelt.

“Initial indicators are likely some sort of fatigue, inattention, intoxication,” he said.

He urged Territorians to be safe and vigilant on the roads now and in the lead-up to Christmas.

“It’s not hard to wear your seatbelt or get a mate to take you home from the pub,” he said. “What (people) don’t see is the ripple effects and the families that are devastated and destroyed. “If you’re not going to do it for yourself, do it for them.”

Police have asked anyone with information about the crash to contact police on 131 444, with reference number 9475211.

The Northern Territory’s road toll now sits at 25 for this year.

There were four fatalities on NT roads in October.
