A Top End home CCTV has captured the moment an intruder stole sentimental items as they rummaged through the premises.

A Top End residence CCTV reveals intruder

ANOTHER Top End residence fell victim to a brazen and casual alleged break-in on Tuesday morning.

Internal home surveillance shows a young man rummaging through contents of the Fannie Bay home in a relaxed manner.

A resident of the home who wished to only go by his last name, Mr Khan, said the offender allegedly took a number of items with “sentimental value”, leaving with his grandma’s purse and jewellery.

At the end of the offender’s unwanted visit, Mr Khan’s grandma confronted the offender which did not seem to phase the young man as he continued to calmly walk out.

“(Grandma was) feeling very shaken afterwards but I’m glad she’s safe,” Mr Khan said.

“That man took away the feeling of safety in your own home and it’ll take her some time to recover from this.”

Mr Khan believed he had uncovered the identity of the alleged offender and was assisting police in the investigation.

“What’s most upsetting is how casual he was about the whole thing. “He entered our home at dawn, lurked inside the property for a good ten minutes (and) repeatedly went into my grandma’s home to steal,”

Police have been contacted for comment.
