It comes as the Northern Territory is expected to surpass 120,000 doses administered since the start of the rollout.

Amid increased supply of the Pfizer vaccine, Ms Fyles said the NT government would add 1700 booking slots to its website for times over the next few weeks.

“Later today, we will provide additional appointments for Darwin, for Pfizer,” she said.

“That means across the Territory, we’ll be delivering 8,500 appointments over the coming weeks.”

NT vaccine lead Dr Bhavini Patel welcomed the extra slots, saying the existing mass vaccination clinic at the Italian Club in Marrara was handing out around 200 Pfizer doses per day.

“We’ve had no problems filling appointments (over) the last weekend and a bit, and as the Minister says we’re delighted to offer additional bookings,” Dr Patel said.
