Victoria has again taken out the top spot for the largest Lotto wins in Australia for the seventh year in a row, with the state crowning 84 new millionaires in 2022.

While Victoria recorded the most major prizes in 2022 to date, New South Wales scored the most division one prize money and racked up 80 millionaires.

NSW also posted the nation’s biggest individual lottery prize of the year after a staggering $63 million Powerball win in February by a man from Coffs Harbour.

New data from The Lott has revealed where the nation’s luckiest Lotto hot spots and postcodes are, including the suburbs in each state and territory where the most division one winning entries were sold in 2022.

It comes ahead of Saturday Lotto’s $40 Million Megadraw on New Year’s Eve.

Victoria finished 2022 on a high with the most division one wins, with 142 entries that scored more than $394 million in prize money.

NSW and the ACT had less entries — 109 — but racked up more prize money with a total of $529 million.

Queensland scored $231 million from 92 division one entries while South Australia landed $79 million from 37 division one entries.

In the Northern Territory, the postcode of 0830 for Yarrawonga delivered the Northern Territory’s biggest prize from an entry sold in-store.

The Lott spokesman James Eddy encouraged Australians to get their entry for the New Year’s Eve draw early and register that entry to an online account or players card.

“The annual Saturday Lotto Megadraw is famous for being a millionaire-maker, and this year’s $40 million jackpot on New Year’s Eve proves the last chance of Aussie to finish 2022 as a division one winner,” he said.

“We know lottery wins can land anywhere and at any time, but in the first 11 months of 2022, we’ve seen pockets of wins emerge in different postcodes and regions.

“From Darwin to Launceston and everywhere in between, we’ve seen division one wins land far and wide across Australia this year, transforming the lives of players from all walks of life.

“Just imagine what the new year would look like if you won division one in the last Australian lottery draw of 2022.”

The $40 Million Megadraw, Saturday Lotto draw 4325, is on December 31.
