Two scrub pythons tangled up in an “epic battle” have put on an unforgettable show for visitors to the Far North.
Daintree River Wildlife and Crocodile Cruise owner/operator David White was running a tour when he came across the two reptiles battling it out in the water.
Often spotting crocodiles and other wildlife along the Daintree River, he said the “full-on” snake fight was a first.
“I have been on the river five to seven days, 52 weeks a year for 23 years ... and never seen this before,” he said.
“We watched for 45 minutes and the stamina was unbelievable.
“When the fight ended, we took the boat closer and tried to measure their size over 3.5m.
