Brittany Higgins has given birth to her first child with husband David Sharaz.
The former federal staffer welcomed the child, a boy, on Saturday.
She posted a picture of her new son on Instagram on Sunday night, in which he appeared to be asleep in a hospital cot. His face was shielded in the photo by a love heart sticker.
“Last night we welcomed our little boy into the world,” she wrote.
“A huge thank-you to the amazing midwives, nurses and doctors for their care and kindness.
“We’re both looking forward to getting to dote on the newest member of the family — forever grateful for all the love and support we’ve received.”
Within minutes the post had received more than 5000 likes. Mr Sharaz also shared the post.
The couple have not publicly revealed their son’s name or any other details of the birth.
