BUD lights, flood lights and the mall’s street lights have been installed and upgraded to help improve pedestrian safety in the popular city strip.
The Darwin Council project, which has taken place over the last four months, will also look to improve the overall atmosphere and aesthetics of the mall.

Darwin lord Mayor Kon Vatskalis said he was delighted with the end result.
“The Mall is the gateway to our city and the Waterfront, so it’s important that it be welcoming and attractive,” he said.
“The additional lighting City of Darwin has installed improves visibility and overall amenity of the Mall. The extra lighting also addresses concerns raised by the community and retailers regarding pedestrian safety.”

The project is part of council’s lighting an beautification project which has a total allocated budget of $53 million across the municipality.
