AN Airnorth plane had been forced to turn back to Darwin after suffering “an engineering issue”.

The problem occurred about 9.10am Wednesday, shortly after departing Darwin Airport for Maningrida.

An Airnorth spokeswoman said the aircraft carrying 24 passengers and three crew returned safely to Darwin, landing at 9.40am.
