A luxury hotel on the steps of Burleigh Head’s famous shoreline is set to welcome their first guests this weekend - and show off its stunning hero features.

Mondrian Gold Coast is the group’s first Australian hotel with its addition in the tourism capital joining illustrious locations across the globe including Cannes in the French Riviera, Ibiza in the Mediterranean and Los Angeles in the US.

Rooms start at $749 per night.

Mondrian Gold Coast general manager Brad Mercer said he hoped the new hotel would raise the region’s profile on the world stage and highlight the “creative spirit” of the southern Gold Coast.

“(We’re) here to complement and amplify the unique energy that makes Burleigh Heads so loved,” he said.

“Burleigh’s long been known for its natural beauty, eclectic culture and that laid-back-but-vibrant coastal rhythm (and) we’re here to celebrate that.”

The hotel has 208 rooms including suites and studios, private beach houses with plunge pools and a full-floor option called the Sky House on the 24th level.

Mr Mercer said the spacious rooms were ideal for larger groups or extended stays and many included kitchen and laundry facilities.

“There’s our bio-wellness spa with touchless technology, magnesium-infused plunge pools and a dynamic fitness centre,” he said.

The hotel features poolside restaurant and beach club Haven on the third floor and Italian venue Lito on ground level.

Haven is complete with a pool, private cabanas and sunset bar and executive chef Aaron Teece hopes it will redefine coastal dining on the Gold Coast.

It will use local seafood from Cairns, the Sunshine Coast and northern New South Wales as well as meats and seasonal produce from the hinterland.

Lito cafe and venue flows from morning coffees to long lunches and late dinners and serves up hand rolled pasta and tiramisu.

Mr Mercer said Mondrian were passionate about being “more than just a hotel”.

“We also offer beautifully designed spaces for events, weddings and celebrations of all kinds, plus our spa and wellness offerings will be open to the public,” he said.

“We see ourselves as part of the community fabric (and) a place where locals and travellers naturally come together.”
