ST John’s Ambulance were kept busy across the Territory by road users on Thursday, with a Katherine boy lucky to escape with minor injuries after being struck by a car.
St John’s Ambulance Territory Duty Manager Craig Garraway said the boy ran across the road in the evening before he was hit.

“At half past 5 on Maluka Dr on Katherine, we had a young child run out onto the road and was hit by a car, again luckily there only minor injuries,” he said.
“It could have been a lot worse.”
Mr Garraway said the boy was taken to Katherine hospital quickly by his family, before paramedics paid him a visit to check he was okay.
“In the end his parents took him to hospital before we actually got there and our guys went to hospital to see that he was okay and he wasn’t too bad,” he said.

In Darwin, a man was taken to hospital after his car ploughed through the front of a home in Malak.
“About 3.15 yesterday afternoon in Delwood Cres in Malak, a car ran into a house,” he said.
“We had two patients from that, a driver and a passenger I believe … we did transport the driver to hospital, only with minor injuries though.”
