TWO people have been taken to hospital following a horror knife fight at a busy shopping centre

The man and woman were taken separately to hospital.

UPDATE: Two people involved in a knife fight at Bakewell shopping centre on Thursday came from a remote community, with Domestic Violence Orders (DVO) in place for their protection.

NT Police confirmed they were still investigating the incident to the NT News after a man and a woman were taken separately to different hospitals after the incident at Bakewill Shopping Centre, where a knife was also found.

No charges have been laid.

EARLIER: Two people have been taken to hospital following a fight at a Palmerston shopping centre on Thursday night.

Northern Watch Commander Joshua Cunningham said about 8pm on Thursday, Police were notified of an incident occurring at Bakewell Shopping Centre after reports a woman attacking a man with a knife.

“Police quickly attended the location and a witness identified the two people involved in the incident,” he said.

“Initial assessment identified both parties has suffered non-life threatening injuries possible from an edged weapon.”

Cmdr Cunningham said the two people involved were then taken separately to hospital while investigations continued on scene.

“As a result one participant was conveyed to Royal Darwin Hospital by St John whereas the other was conveyed to Palmerston Regional Hospital by Police.”
