A DARWIN woman has accused police of deleting her mobile phone footage of officers using capsicum spray on nightclubbers at a Mitchell St venue.

Mali Page told ABC police used the spray to break up a non-violent argument outside Opium nightclub at 4am on Sunday.

Ms Page said she has reported the incident to the ombudsmen.

“Some Police brutality from 4am, 10 December 2017 outside Opium Nightclub. A crowd of innocent people indiscriminately hosed down with pepper spray- myself included,” she posted on social media.

“Why? No idea. Most excruciating experience I’ve ever had.

“Police then disappeared leaving a crowd of people, blind, defenceless and in serious agony with no idea what to do or how to get home.”

An NT Police spokesman confirmed a complaint had been received regarding the use of capsicum spray on Mitchell St in the early hours of Sunday morning.

“These complaints are being reviewed and will be assessed in conjunction with the Ombudsman,” he said.
