Lucky interstate fisho hooked found $10,000 on the end of his line

For the first time ever a $10,000 Million Dollar Fish barra has been hooked off a local fishing charter.

Million Dollar Fish season 7 has launched!

AN INTERSTATE fisho is counting his lucky stars after hooking a $10,000 barra as part of the Million Dollar Fish competition.

The 68cm scaly mate was pulled out of the Fog Bay water by David Nolan with the Dundee Beach Fishing Charters on Sunday.

Mr Nolan said he didn’t see the tag at first but the skipper then delighted him with his observation.

“Everybody was jumping around because a Million Dollar Fish prize-tagged barra has never been caught through a fishing charter before,” Mr Nolan said.

“The whole thing hasn’t really sunk in yet, but with Christmas coming up the winnings might come in handy for some presents.”

With 96 prize-tagged barra worth $10,000 and eight Million Dollar Fish still up for grabs, there has never been a better time to wet a line in the Northern Territory.

Major Events Minister Natasha Fyles said it was fantastic to see another angler win big through Million Dollar Fish. “I’d like to congratulate David Nolan,” Ms Fyles said.
