THE MAN who died after a single-vehicle rollover in Central Australia on Thursday leaves behind a wife and teenage son.

The man, who has not been named for cultural reasons, lived in Kintore, a remote community 500km west of Alice Springs.

He previously lived in the Tjukurla community, located in the Goldfields-Esperance region of Western Australia.

His family had been mourning the death of a close relative and the disappearance of another family member at the time of the incident.

The crash, which occurred around 3.30pm on an unsealed road near Kintore, left four others injured.

A spokeswoman for NT Health said one man stayed in Kintore with minor injuries while three others were hospitalised.

One of the men injured, 60, was flown to Adelaide hospital in a serious condition, while the other two men, aged 47 and 57, remain in Alice Springs Hospital in a stable condition.

Northern Territory Police are still investigating the cause of the crash.

It’s the third fatal vehicle crash in the Territory in the space of a week.

It brings the total number of lives lost on NT roads to 21 this year.

At this time in 2020, there were 13 fatalities on Territory roads recorded.
