A man who travelled to the NT from Indonesia on-board his own yacht is the latest person in the Territory to test positive to coronavirus.
The NT government reports the 70-year-old man tested positive in the past 24 hours, after arriving in the Territory by sea on Tuesday, July 13.
The man reportedly has mild symptoms and is under the care of NT Health staff at the Howard Springs quarantine facility.
A NT Health spokeswoman said “all necessary border arrival requirements (had been) met” in relation to the boat’s arrival and its occupants had not spent any time in the community.
“The yacht arrived in Darwin on July 13,” she said.
“The skipper and one passenger remained on boat until they were transferred to the Centre for National Resilience (Howard Springs quarantine facility) on July 14.
“At no time did they enter into the community.”
NT Health have also confirmed the man was a Territory resident returning from overseas.
There have been 192 Covid-19 cases diagnosed in the NT since the start of the pandemic.
There are currently eight active cases.
