A dapper Gold Coast regional sales manager is facing serious drug charges including trafficking cocaine after a raid by Queensland Police’s Organised Crime Gangs Group.
Robina man Joshua Paul Dwaynne Rose, 42, appeared in Southport Magistrates Court on Monday charged with four offences.
They included trafficking cocaine, possessing a mobile phone used in the commission of a drug offence, possessing a vacuum sealer and vacuum sealer bags suspected of being acquired for the purpose of committing a drug offence, and possessing fireworks without an authority.
He was charged on February 4 after an Organised Crime Gangs Group raid at a Robina unit complex.
Mr Rose entered no pleas and was granted bail on his own undertaking. His charges will return to the court on April 24.
Police allege Mr Rose trafficked in cocaine between August 22–November 29 last year.
The day prior, November 28, Mr Rose was arrested by police at Robina and charged with three offences: possessing a schedule 2 drug over the quantity specified in schedule 3, possessing utensils/pipes, and possessing a thing used in the commission of crime.
Those charges were first mentioned in January, and returned to the court on Wednesday, where Mr Rose’s defence lawyer indicated his client would be pleading guilty to those.
The sentence was set down for May 21.
According to Mr Rose’s LinkedIn profile, he currently works as the purchasing manager for a Helensvale-based electrical goods wholesaler, and has a long history of middle management roles across the Gold Coast and Tweed region.
