Police have seized a large quantity of weapons - including guns, tasers, a crossbow and knuckledusters - after a search warrant at the weekend.

On Saturday, police officers from Taskforce Maxima executed a search warrant at a Longboat Drive, Biggera Waters residence, and allegedly located 20 weapons.

The alleged haul included four firearms, two tasers, a large quantity of firearm ammunition plus a number of bladed weapons including batons, knuckle dusters, mace, knives and a crossbow.

It will be further alleged police seized $15,000 cash, a quantity of illegal and prescription drugs, steroids and drug paraphernalia.

A 52-year-old Biggera Waters man has been arrested and faces 28 drug and weapons charges and is due to appear before Southport Magistrate Court on May 9.

Detective Acting Inspector Adrian Sala from Taskforce Maxima said police were committed to removing dangerous weapons and drugs from the streets.

“Illegal firearms and illicit drugs have no place in our community, and we will continue to target offenders and do everything we can to keep the community safe,” he said. “We urge anyone who has information about these types of offences to contact police.”
