Inspector Amy Scott has outlined the moments before she shot the Bondi Junction mass killer dead, and the words from the two bollard-wielding heroes who were backing her up.

Day two of the Bondi Junction stabbing inquest was a day for heroes.

For the first time Inspector Amy Scott — hailed a hero for her actions as she took down a killer on a rampage — was able to tell how those final moments unfolded.

And how she was spurred on by two civilians – French nationals who picked up what they could to stop a killer’s deadly swath through a shopping centre, held him briefly at bay as one wielded a bollard, and yelled “We’re coming with you,” as Insp Scott gave chase.
