Low temperature requirements make Australia's Pfizer rollout a challenging operation

QUARANTINE doctors working with international arrivals at the Howard Springs facility are due to get their first doses of the coronavirus vaccine later this week.

A National Critical Care and Trauma Response Centre spokeswoman has confirmed that no doctors at the Howard Springs Centre for National Resilience (CNR) had received a COVID-19 Pfizer vaccine as of Wednesday.

It comes after the first batch of 1000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine arrived in Darwin on Sunday.

“All staff who work in the international quarantine operation including cleaners, kitchen staff, police, logistics, security along with clinical staff will receive the vaccine,” she said.

“A vaccine hub is expected to be set up at the CNR later this week.

“All CNR staff are required to book an appointment at the RDH vaccine hub with CNR staff presenting for vaccines today and yesterday.”
