Hairdressing, music, resilience workshops revealed for NT Youth Week 2024
A host of activities for NT Youth Week 2024 have been unveiled with a goal to ‘highlight and celebrate’ young people’s interests and talents.

A free hairdressing program, music workshops and festivals, artistic workshops and resilience-building tasks are among the latest activities revealed for NT Youth Week 2024.
Youth, Seniors and Equality Minister Ngaree Ah Kit said 29 grants had been awarded to a range of vendors with a mission to empower Territorians aged 12-25.
Ms Ah Kit said the grants were distributed across the Top End, East Arnhem, Central and Big Rivers regions with work continuing in the Barkly to identify activities to fund.
“Youth Week is an opportunity to highlight and celebrate the valuable contributions our young people make to our diverse communities,” she said.
“Youth Week is a time that we can offer young people the opportunity to develop as leaders and to design programs and activities that meet the needs of a diverse range of young people right across the Northern Territory.”
Ms Ah Kit said the recently announced Youth Week ambassadors would play a critical role in fostering with the NT’s young people and encouraging them to engage with the event’s activities.
“Our government is always working to engage young people in positive activities, prepare them as leaders of the future and provide them with opportunities to thrive and grow,” she said.
