The Northern Territory’s top apprentices, trainees, and education providers have been named at a prestigious awards ceremony in Darwin.
Nilsen NT’s Julian Coburn has been named Apprentice of the Year with a Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician at the GTNT awards night on Friday.
And GTNT Group’s Jessica Porter was crowned Trainee of the Year with a Diploma of Leadership and Management.
Thomas Norris II – who completed a Certifiate III in Engineering, Fabrication Trade with Darwin Port – was named Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Student of the Year.
Eleven categories were awarded throughout the evening, with 42 finalists in the mix, as well as three commendation awards.
A GTNT spokesperson said the awards had been celebrated for 35 years and recognised the achievements of “local Territory talent and those businesses that partner with GTNT Group to provide opportunities for Territorians”.
“GTNT Group would like to congratulate all 2024 finalists and winners and wish them the very best for their careers and future endeavours,” they said.
