One of the Gold Coast’s biggest New Year’s Eve events will feature fireworks, pony rides, performers and more — and entry is free.
Gold Coast City Council (GCCC) has planned five budget-friendly New Year’s Eve events for families across the city.
Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate urged residents to “gather your family and friends and join us to celebrate the New Year”.
“We will have fireworks displays all along the coast from Coolangatta to Broadbeach, Surfers Paradise and the Broadwater,” he said.
“The City will put on fireworks displays earlier in the night for the youngsters as well as spectacular finales at midnight for those who want to see in 2025.”
The main New Year’s Eve family party will be held at Broadbeach Parklands from 4pm.
“Dust off your boots and cowboy hat because this year’s theme is Boots, Bling and Country Things and will include an attempt to create the Gold Coast’s greatest ever Nutbush dance,” a GCCC statement said.
The Broadwater Parklands will also include an animal petting zoo, pony rides, face painting, kids craft, giant bubbles, roving performers and stilt walkers.
Council’s other events will be held at Coomera Sports Park, Surfers Paradise Beach, Kurrawa Park and Queen Elizabeth Park.
