Police are on the hunt for a group of offenders after a tobacconist was broken into on the Gold Coast.

Police are on the hunt for a group of offenders after a tobacconist was broken into on the Gold Coast.

Police officers were called to a break-and-enter at a tobacconist shop on Molendinar’s Olsen Ave around 1am on Tuesday.

A Queensland police statement said a group of offenders had smashed into a side door to gain entry into the business.

It was understood damage was caused to cabinets and the side door of the business.

Reports showed an alarm was activated which caused the offenders to flee the scene in a white Volkswagen hatchback.

Police are calling for anyone who witnessed suspicious activity or may have relevant dashcam in the area to contact them at 131 444.

It was the latest in a series of break-ins on the Gold Coast as police continue examining blood left behind during a break-and-enter at an IGA supermarket on Lae Drive in Runaway Bay.
