Police are working to determine the cause of a Pimpama crash which left a Ford Ranger ute on its roof in a ditch and a major road closed for an hour.
Officers were called to the collision between the ute and a Toyota Echo hatchback about 7.30pm on Tuesday along Pimpama Jacobs Well Rd.
“The collision caused the Ford Ranger to flip and come to rest on its roof,” a Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said.
“Both drivers received minor injuries … (and) also returned a negative breath test.”
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said three patients, including a female in her 20s, were treated at the scene for non-life threatening injuries. They were all taken to Gold Coast University Hospital.
Pimpama Jacobs Well Rd was closed for about an hour as emergency services worked to recover the ute from the ditch and clear the roadway.
Police are still working to determine how the crash occurred.
The intersection at Wharf Rd has become a trouble spot with at least eight multi-vehicle crashes occurring in the past five years according to Department of Transport and Main Roads data.
All have resulted in injuries with six crashes requiring hospitalisations.
