Police are investigating a fire that destroyed multiple vehicles in the early hours of the morning at a Gold Coast unit block.

The inferno broke out in a carport about 1.50am on Thursday at an address along Frank St, Labrador and quickly spread to neighbouring vehicles.

A Queensland Fire Department spokesman said a car was found “well involved” by fire when crews arrived on scene. A trailer was also alight.

Firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control within half an hour before the scene was handed over to police.

There were no reports of any injuries from the fire.

A Queensland Police Service spokesman said the incident, which also damaged a motorbike, was being investigated by officers but no further information was available at this time.

More to come.
