A pedestrian has been killed after a collision involving a motorcycle close to a notorious Grovedale intersection.

A pedestrian has died after a collision involving a motorcycle close to a notorious Grovedale intersection.
Emergency services were called to reports of a collision involving a motorcycle and pedestrian at Reserve Road about 10.05am.
By 11am, police taped off an area outside The Vue Aged Care. and the SES set up a tent.
A shoe, helmet and motorbike can be seen lying on the road.
A Victoria Police spokesman confirmed Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives were investigating the fatal collision in Grovedale this morning.
“The pedestrian, who is yet to be formally identified, died at the scene,” he said.
“The motorcyclist, 20-year-old Tarneit man, was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries under police guard.
“The exact circumstances surrounding the collision are yet to be determined and investigations remain ongoing.
An Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman confirmed paramedics responded to an incident in Grovedale and one person was transported by road to Geelong Hospital.
As of 5pm, the motorcyclist remained in hospital, but was no longer under police guard.
Victoria Police have confirmed his identity, and he will be spoken to at a later time.
Their investigation remains ongoing.
Police said the road was expected to be closed for several hours as investigators assess the scene.

The crash occurred about two hundred metres from notorious Reserve Rd, Surf Coast Hwy intersection.
On June 2 construction began on traffic lights and pedestrian-operated crossing signals at the intersection, with roadwork signs visible from the site of the fatal.
Transport Victoria said the upgrades would improve “safety for pedestrians and bike riders”.
Federal MP for Corangamite Libby Coker said in May the changes to the “really dangerous intersection” followed “much advocacy”.
There were seven crashes reported at the intersection between 1 January 2019 and 31 December 2023.
Of these, Transport Victoria reported that three resulted in serious injuries and four resulted in minor injuries.
It is understood there have been more since.
