A Lara dad was left bleeding and bruised after being ambushed by two men and brutally attacked outside his home in the early hours. VIDEO.

A Lara dad was left bleeding and bruised after a horror attack outside home that has left him and his family traumatised.

Herjindeer Singh was headed to work about 5.30am on September 17 when he was ambushed by two men.

CCTV footage shows him exit his front door and walk towards his vehicle before he is slammed onto the ground by two men, landing forcefully on his back.

Mr Singh, 42, then stands before one of the men pushes him back to the ground and begins to hit him.

He shrugs off his attackers and runs back towards his front door, calling for his family inside to help.

Footage from another camera shows Mr Singh attempt to unlock the door before one of the men, who can be seen holding a phone as if he is filming the attack, comes up behind him and starts punching him in the side of his head, face, stomach and back.

The men are both wearing dark hooded jumpers, dark pants and face coverings.

Mr Singh’s son Rajveer Singh, 20, heard his dad screaming for help and called triple-0.

He ran outside to help his father but the attackers had already fled the scene.

“It looked like (the attackers) were trying to get dad out of the CCTV’s cameras (view) and back behind his van so nothing could be seen,” Rajveer said.

Herjindeer was taken to hospital via ambulance after he was left with bleeding near his eye and had bruising and swelling on his back.

Rajveer said his father had to have an MRI and CT scan after the frightening assault.

Police confirmed officers are investigating the assault and said Herjindeer’s phone was also stolen in the attack.

The family believed the men had been waiting for Herjindeer to leave his home before they attacked.

The attacker can be seen on CCTV footage punching Herjindeer’s multiple times.

He said his family has been looking at CCTV footage to identify the car’s registration plate but it allegedly did not have one.

Footage also shows the vehicle, believed to be a Land Cruiser, driving along the street multiple times between 1am and 4am on the morning Herjindeer was attacked.

The family believes the men were hired to intimidate and assault his father in a targeted attack due to their religious connections.

“Our whole family has been traumatised,” Rajveer said.

“We don’t understand why this has happened.”

Rajveer said his father had since gone back to work but his family were fearful they could be targeted again.

“I’ve very scared,” he said.
