Geelong’s best electrician says the recognition from Addy readers is a reflection of his whole team.
Boden Carkeek has been an electrician for more than 15 years and is the director of Quality Care Electrical.
He said he was humbled and appreciative to be voted as the best in the business.
“We’re one of many good sparkys around town,” he said.
“To be recognised in such a strong group of people and companies is a real honour.”
Mr Carkeek said his entire team, rather than him personally, deserved the honour.
He said he enjoyed seeing his employees continue to learn, something they do every day despite how long they have been in the industry.
“I’m only as good as my team and we have a strong group from the office to the field,” he said.
Mr Carkeek said he extended his appreciation to customers, both who voted and those who continue to support the nine-year-old business.
“We have always been a relationship based business and hopefully this is a reflection of that,” he said.
“We’re not necessarily the cheapest, but we do a good job and we’re here to stay.
“I ask that people always consider local and reputable businesses as it goes a long way in the community.”
Mr Carkeek said while there were always jobs on the books, winter was a slower time while the last quarter of the year would see a busy rush of jobs, as is the case for most trades.
“We do a real mixture of work, but we’re mainly service based for residential and commercial,” he said.
