Specialist police are raiding a Drysdale property as part of an ongoing drug investigation.
A number of officers, some wearing yellow hazmat suits, were seen at the Eastwood Crescent home after midday on Tuesday.
The officers, some wearing specialist face masks, could be seen removing what looked like plasterboard from the house and other objects.
Geelong Criminal Investigation Unit Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Guthrie confirmed officers were executing a search warrant as part of an “ongoing drug investigation”.
“A specialist drug squad from Melbourne is assisting the ongoing investigation,” he said.
“Officers are wearing hazmat suits as a precaution.”
Sergeant Guthrie said no charges had been laid and no arrests had been made.
He couldn’t say what police were expecting to find or what, if any, drugs had been seized.
The weatherboard property, located in a quiet and unassuming street, had a blue SUV with a “baby on board” sign parked out the front.
Neighbours said cars came and went from the house at strange hours of the night.
“This is a quiet, safe, friendly street,” one neighbour said.
