Geelong West fire destroys one, damages two others on Elizabeth Street
One house has been destroyed and two others damaged in massive Geelong West blaze, shocking onlookers and leaving a foul stench in the air.

A Geelong West fire engulfed three homes on Wednesday, with at least one property destroyed by the blaze.
The Elizabeth St fire, which broke out about 2pm, was the region’s second major house fire in two days.
Shocked neighbours watched on as smoke billowed from the homes. Thick black smoke was reportedly seen from surrounding suburbs.
The roof of a double storey house collapsed during the fire, but authorities have not yet confirmed where the fire started.
A Country Fire Authority spokeswoman said five trucks were called to the scene.
“Upon arrival, crews found three houses on fire, which were under control at 2.50pm,” she said.
A number of police officers were on the scene seeking information from witnesses and diverting traffic with a large section of road blocked off from vehicles and pedestrians.
A Victoria Police spokeswoman said the fire was not being treated as suspicious.
“It’s understood a fire broke out in a home on Elizabeth St and spread to two homes either side around 2pm. The exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined,” she said.
Paramedics were also called to the scene, but no one was injured.
It comes as Drysdale residents were urged to take cover on Tuesday afternoon when significant smoke warnings were issued following a two storey house fire at James Crt.
The Drysdale fire broke out about 1.20pm and took firefighters about an hour to bring under control. The occupants were not home at the time.
