An “eshay” TikTok creator is going viral on social media for rapping in front of a Centrelink office while flashing $50 notes.
The eshay, which is a slang term for a brash young urban person, creates content under the username “sanedatkid” and posts a range of short videos where he calls himself a “gang member” and boasts he is the “king of Torquay”.
In one of his recent videos, which was posted on the weekend, he raps out the front of Geelong’s Centrelink office in Little Ryrie St holding $200 worth of $50 notes.
The video, which is eight-seconds long, shows him wearing a North Face vest, Nike tracksuit pants and yellow Nike Jordan sneakers, an outfit typically worn by eshays, while he raps choice words and flips his middle finger to the camera.
“I just got paid,” he said in the video.
“Yeah, f--- what they say.
“Yeah, I’m up now.
“Flex with a buss down, yeah.”
The video has received more than 650,000 views, nearly 30,000 likes and gained more than 1300 colourful comments.
“I love where my taxes go,” one user commented.
“I wish someone would tell these people that if they actually worked they’d get more than $200,” another said.
“Bus down to Centrelink and bus back home,” a third user commented.
His TikTok account has more than 6,000 followers.
One of his most popular videos shows him lying in a hospital bed with the caption “yeah, you might have got me this time (but) I still run Melbourne, sleep with two eyes open.”
The video has more than one million views since it was posted in February this year.
