A passenger on a dirt bike allegedly fled the scene of a crash in Torquay while his mate was being arrested by police.
Officers were called to a crash at the intersection of Feehans Rd and the Surfcoast Hwy on Sunday about 1.30pm.
Police allege the male drive was riding the 250CC dirt bike with his passenger on the bike’s back seat.
Officers say the driver allegedly ran a red light at the intersection before colliding with car.
“The rider was quickly arrested at the scene with the passenger fleeing,” police said.
Paramedics treated the driver at the scene and he has been charged with multiple offences including reckless conduct endangering life, unlicensed driving, unregistered and failing to stop at a red light.
He is due to appear at the Geelong Magistrates Court later this year.
Officers are still looking for the passenger.
Police are urging anyone with information on the passenger to contact Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000.
