Sun, DJs, food and glitter lit up the Darwin Ski Club as Territorians descended to enjoy the Top End Gin festival.

With headline act Matt Corby lined up for late afternoon, Territorians soaked up the Dry Season’s ambience in style, with plenty of gin – and other drinks – to go around.

Selling from the stall was Rhiley Puppatz who said she was impressed with the hundreds who had arrived within the opening hour.

“Yeah it’s pretty good turnout, especially because it’s so hot,” she said.

“People can enjoy their drinks before the big acts.”

Britt Smith and Angus Dundon said they expected the Italian gin to be red hot favourite among revellers.

“We reckon as the day goes on the gin with the best label will win,” Ms Smith said.

“We haven’t had a chance to sample it all, but all the drinks will probably be popular.”

Gin was not the only favourite, with dozen of attendees splattered in glitter and colour.

Elkie Gregory of GetGlittery said she was “loving” the beachy vibe.

“We have enough glitter for the hundreds of people to come, absolutely,” she said.

“When we get a break I’ll be sure to check out the gin myself, it looks great.”

Ms Gregory said even the men had enjoyed getting glittered up.

“As well as boobs (getting glittered), there are a lot of beards too.”
